Increase your desktop searching speed
1> Download and install google desktop search at desktop.google.com
2> It is a utility that indexes files on desktop PC and displays the result in google search page, with some relevance ranking based on modified dates.
3> It has a nice interface , the google page appears in which you can type in a value and search the answer.
4> But for better results,you should index the content. So after that , searching is quicker than conventional windows search.
5> After installing google Desktop search . It minimizes to the tray.
Some Settings:
Press Ctrl twice to show the quick search box. Then click on options.
Then under Default action select “Search Desktop”.
Click on more options to set more preferences.
There are some options like

1. Setting History
2. How many results per page
3. Display mode

There are several gadgets associated with google desktop search.

1. Weather gadget which shows weather.

Now right click on google desktop icon on the system tray and click options and check Enable Enhanced Index.
Then click on save preferences.
To see the index status right click again and click on Indexing -> Index Status.
After Indexing Definitly the speed increases.
